  I started an account at this bank in Alex about a year or so ago. But, if you are looking for a personable/friendly expierence with a bank, this isn't the one I would go to. They have charged me over $130 in over draft fees (even though I signed up for my accounts not to be overdrafted) and then after I explained how it wasn't my fault she said she had a "personal limit" to refunds on overdrafts.... but she can do "partial" which she wouldnt tell me exactly how much & I have yet to see happen. Im a single mom with a special needs child.... I need every penny I earn. Yet, everyday my account gets charged 8 dollars for it being in the negative. Once my tax refund hits.... I'm moving to a new bank.

  This place is utterly ridiculous and non-professional. I have also had the overdraft problem even though I have overdraft protection. What's the use of offering the protection if the same bank tries to find ways to charge you overdraft fees anyway? The problem at hand started when I tried to DEPOSIT a check into my account which they said I couldn't unless I came in. They said it was because they needed an updated address which was no problem but now after three weeks and many long talks with them on the phone while I'm at work I learn they still haven't fixed the ridiculous problem. I can't even check my balance because of the same problem and I can't get the app set up because customer service isn't open on Sundays? Oh I'm sure They care about their customers. They won't have my business any longer either, the people that work there have no idea what they're doing. Its like they had never ran into a problem before. First merchants bank are the typical money hungry pieces of $%!&.
